Events in 1999
Trip To London Dungeons (16/10/99)
It all started when a bunch of brave youth group members and leaders
decided to go to the London Dungeons, blood and dead bodies littered the
place and we were extremely over whelmed by the different torture devices
used, we also found all about Jack the Ripper and the murdors he committed.
Afterwards, we went for a picnic and a game of "Zombie ManHunt" which everyone
enjoyed!
Beach Barbecue (10/07/99)
Shoreham beach, on the 10th of July was the scene for the Beach BBQ
held by St. M and N's Youth Club and the Baptist Youth Group "Laser". The
weather was nice and so was the food. Although only 2 members of St. M
and N's turned up, everyone had fun, and joined in with the games.

Sponsered Cycle Ride (20/06/99)
The cycle ride started at St. Nicolas Church and finished at Bramber
castle for a picnic and a game of rounders. The weather was nice and warm.
Members managed to collect sponsers and have raised over £80 for
the annual youth club camp. Lots of people came (not just members and leaders)
and everyone had great fun!
Hunger Brunch (12/06/99)
On Saturday 12th June, The Youth Club held a 'Hunger Brunch' at Father
Jonathons house. The weather as lovely and hot, and although we had a very
poor turnout, we managed to raise over £100.
Coffee Morning (29/05/99)
At 40 Gordon Road, St. M & N's Youth club held a coffee morning
on Saturday 29th May, the events was to raise money for the youth group
funds, and we managed to raise £45. Few members of the youth group
turned up, but we had lots of the public in for tea or coffee.
Megazone (15/05/99)
On Saturday 15th May, we went to Megazone at the King Alfred Leisure
Centre for a picnic and a game of cricket. Lots of under arm bowling and
missed balls ensured that none of us would be picked to play for England.
After Cricket, we went for a game of 'Laser Warriors'. The Youth club members
showed a frightening ability of shooting anything that moved, and managed
to hit people more people on their own team, then the others. The day was
great fun and everyone enjoyed themselves.
Candlelit Supper & Virtual Sleepover in Hall (27/04/99)
On Saturday 27th March the Youth Club held a Candlelit Supper in aid
of the Children's Society. About 60 people sat down to a meal of
Jacket potatoes with a variety of fillings followed by apple pie, fruit
flan and cream. Sixty candles were lit and, more importantly, £240
was raised for the Society's work. Many thanks to all who came and
supported the Youth Club and gave donations and time for this worthwhile
cause. Afterwards, the youth club members and leaders slept over in the
hall and watched videos. One of the members stayed up all night to watch
the Titanic sink!
Swim at Wadurs (20/04/99)
On Saturday 20th March, St. M & N's Youth Club hired Wadurs swimming
pool and invited the members of the club and church to come along and swim,
although we made a loss in the profits, we all had great fun and enjoyed
it a lot.
Hunger Brunch (13/04/99)
On Saturday 13th March, the Youth Group raised over £120 for
the residents at Tollbridge House to get new tables. The Youth club managed
to buy them 2 tables, and the event was a success. The Hunger Brunch was
actually held at the home and we had lots of people turnup.
Guildford Trip (20/02/99)
St. M & N's Youth Club paid their annual visit to the Spectrum
Centre at Guildford this spring. The centre facilities include skating,
swimming and tenpin bowling. This was our second trip and we were
pleased to see some new faces amongst us - notably FJ, (Father Jonathan
to the rest of you) and Mr Leon Savannte. In the past Leon was a
member of the Brighton Tigers Ice Hockey Team and seems to have lost none
of his talent. The cost of the trip included two activities and everyone
had fun, with no broken bones this year, so no visits to the local hospital!
Next year we hope that more members of the church community will join us
in a very active day out.
Body Shop Trip (16/01/99)
On Saturday 16th January a group of Youth Club members and leaders
vistited the Body Shop factory in Littlehampton. We were shown various
stages of production and learned how the Body Shop products help support
Third World countries. At the end of the tour we were each given two free
Body Shop samples. This was a brilliant afternoon, ending up at St. Mary's
Hall for our usual 'Club' evening.
